Conceptual guidelines on sustainable spatial planning

The Sustainable Municipality programme is the Swedish Energy Agency’s programme for sustainable development at a local level. It offers various forms of expert support to develop and strengthen local efforts concerning energy issues. Within the framework of the Sustainable Municipality programme (the SM) the Urban Planning theme energy issues have been integrated into urban planning by developing target-group adapted tools and methods. This publication describes these methods. The work has been conducted as a development and research project in cooperation with the Institution for Urban Planning at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.
