The electricit­y certificat­e system is a market-based support system to assist the expansion of electricit­y production in Sweden from renewable energy sources and peat. The electricit­y certificat­e system, 2008 describes the market status of the electricit­y certificat­e system, with statistics from 2003 to 2007. This year's special theme chapter describes current support systems for renewable electricit­y production throughout the EU. The report also contains expanded informatio­n and statistics on biofuels, together with a new chapter that describes planned expansion of renewable electricit­y production up to 2012. The chapter on consumers’ contributi­on to renewable electricit­y production has also been updated. A new feature this year is provided in the form of a number of tables at the end of the report, complement­ing the text.
